Clinton Middle School (CMS) serves nearly 400 sixth through eighth graders in the Clinton School District. Our staff is composed of thirty certified staff

At CMS, we are dedicated to challenging each student through rigorous curriculum to reach their full potential. Our teachers use innovative lessons to create an environment in which students think critically and explore the world around them. Students are immersed in core curriculum as well as several elective offerings. These offerings include: band, choir, FACS, digital media, STEM, art, technical school rotations, life and health education, and gifted education.
Formal character education lessons are also taught twice a week as CMS staff helps meet students’ emotional development, while groups such as Bright Futures, PTO, and our school-based therapist add additional layers of emotional and personal support for students. Over 60% of our students are also involved in our co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Some of our offerings include: band, choir, football, volleyball, boys and girls basketball, wrestling, track, archery, science olympiad, NJHS, and student council.
Due to Clinton’s smaller size, we are a culturally tight-knit group. Many of our students demonstrate school pride as they turn out in large numbers at our extra-curricular activities to cheer on their fellow Cardinals. Our student council sponsors two dances that are well-attended and supplied with more food than can be eaten. In the past couple of years, both the city and the school district have experienced some tragedy, yet our students, families, and community have come together to raise funds, provide support, and encourage one another through the trying times. All of these attest to the genuine character, dedication to student growth, and warmth generated by the stakeholders involved in Clinton and the surrounding areas.
